The Problems of the Soul in the Context of Christianity

The thesis deals with the emergence of the concept of soul and its anchoring in Christianity. In this context, the theisis indicates the importance of the posthumous surviving element, that is crucial in eschatological expectations. It answers the question of whether the "soul" is a church mechanism to ensure the obedience of believers, as profane society often believes. By describing the eschatological concepts of two Christian wholes, one of which treats the soul differently, the thesis reveals consequences that culminate in a very peculiar interpretation of Scripture. Finally, the thesis shows the "soul" as a theologically necessary category to ensure a cohesive Christian system in the light of biblical statements.

The aim of this bachelor's work is to describe the origins of proto-stoneware in the chinese bronze age. This work includes a summary of past approachestaken concerning proto-stoneware and puts forward a proposition for unification of current terminology. Following an introduction to proto-stoneware as a medium used in production of pottery and an introduction to the localities where such pottery has been unearthed, a detailed description of such pottery is provided. In pursuit of this course there is a an emphasis constantly being put onthe broadercultural context and on inspiration being drawn from forms used when working with some other materials.In the conclusion to this work, with respect to the previous analyses and findings, the author offers his standpointconcerning origins of northern proto-stoneware, that being a question that stands out in every attempt in researching this material. Political murders and assasins in Early China

The purpose of this thesis is to describe murder attempts and personalities of assassins in Early China, mainly focusing on the most famous cases described in Shiji. Beside the description of cases, main goal of this thesis is to find out, whether there is any connection between described cases and what is the overall tone of them. Anoher goal is to compare assassins' personalities and put their characteristic into the context of historical and social changes which took place in Early China society. The conclusion summarizes opinions and results of analysis made in previous chapters and put them into the final statements. Also points out another problems bound up with this topic. Ancient Gods in Today's Advertising

This bachelor thesis deals with ancient mythology influence on advertising specifically with usage of remarkable characters' names in titles of companies and products. It compares information gathered from internet domains, portals and companies' representation with literature specialised in ancient Greco-Roman mythology. Names of the gods and heroes are more frequently used with inner context in their Greek form rather than in Roman form and they are often written with no punctuation. Very common is usage of acronyms which bear resemblance to specific names, however, without any closer relation to the given mythological theme. Most comapny titles really have relatively traceable relation to the ancient myths, which is described in this work. Many of those companies have chosen their names because of the euphonious effect they possess. The research brought to light many appropriately used names related to various fields of business that have not been thoroughly exploited before, eg. name of Hercules. Also, findings unknown to the authors were made revealing eg. relation between Diana and nuts etc. Although it was not possible to embrace presence of all the names in mentioned titles, this work provides adequate insight into the matter of ancient Greco-Roman culture and its topicality as it is related...

Mythological Inspiration in the poetry of Lorenzo de' Medici

The first part of this master thesis is focused on the personality of Lorenzo deʼ Medici and his inclusion in the period and cultural contexts. The literary background of Italy in the 15th century is introduced, as well as the Lorenzo's life, the summary of his literary output and his contribution as a patron of the Florentine culture and arts. The second part analyzes four of the Lorenzoʼs works related to mythological themes going back until the ancient writers. Lorenzoʼs evident influence by these authors is illustrated with the specific quotations but at the same time his own innovations in texts and stories are referred to. The conclusion compares an extend of this influence on him and the contribution of his own invention to the particular works. It points out the uniqueness of the personality of Lorenzo deʼ Medici both in the cultural and literary spheres as well.

This dissertation is focused on a comparison of the ancient theme in children's literature during the second half of the 19th century until 1945. The theoretical part focuses on the comparison and evaluation of the religious, political and cultural situation in the Czech lands, whose background was created children's literature with themes from antiquity. The practical part deals with the comparison of the most important works of Czech and Slovak authors, who were devoted to children's literature with themes from antiquity within the range.
